Mission Statement

The Texas Business Leadership Council (formerly the Governor’s Business Council) was created in 1994 as a non-partisan 501(c)(6) nonprofit corporation that provides public policy research and recommendations to our state’s elected leadership.

As Texas’ only statewide CEO based public policy research organization, the Texas Business Leadership Council is in a unique position to provide the state’s senior executives with a united voice in the legislative and regulatory process.

There are approximately 100 members of the Texas Business Leadership Council at any one time.  To qualify for membership, a person must be the Chief Executive Officer, President, Managing Director of the Board of Directors, or the top executive in the state for his or  her employer.  Membership is comprised of leaders of small, medium and large corporations. The Executive Committee of the Texas Business Leadership Council is responsible for membership criteria.
